BERNICE FREDERICK
AUGUST 29, 1935 - OCTOBER 12, 2021
In the early morning of October 12th, the Frederick family lost their vivacious matriarch. Bernice Frederick left this world to reunite with her beloved husband Joe and their beautiful daughter Krissy. She leaves behind devoted children: Caryn (Beau), Jay (Tina), and Rob (Tracy), as well as adoring grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Bernice ("Bern," "Bernie") was truly blessed to be loved for every minute of her 86 years. Her family and friends will forever miss her brilliant smile, her fun-loving nature, and her incredibly big heart. She took care of everyone with open arms. Her hopeful and optimistic spirit was unmatched. Bernice taught her family how to eat crabs (usually at the Harmonia Club), live it big at the casinos, and love unconditionally. She was a big fan of going out to eat, especially for breakfast where she was a nightmare to waitresses everywhere. (That food better be hot and that bacon well done!) Grandmom always had Vienna fingers in her cookie jar, and loved spoiling her grandkids with her plentiful candy drawer. She also perfected the skill of sneaking candy and popcorn in her purse at the movies. Always one for a deal, she kept her entire family stocked with toothpaste, detergent, and toiletries. Everyone loved "shopping" in Grandmom's basement, its shelves lined with various necessities. Bernice was everyone's biggest cheerleader - she never missed a chance to support her loved ones at games, plays, recitals, and openings. Not a single vacation was planned without Grandmom considered, her sassy scooter in tow in more recent years. Bernice showed her sons and grandsons how to give hugs that warm the soul, taught her daughters and granddaughters how to speak up and speak their minds, and demonstrated care and love to all. While we will miss her forever, her legacy will live on just as long. "It's a Frederick thing."
