DOLORES M. HVORECKY

OCTOBER 11, 1926 - JANUARY 20, 2026

We are saddened by the death of Dolores M. Hvorecky (nee Nickodemus) who quietly passed away on January 20, 2026. She was 99 years of age and was a long-term resident in Philadelphia. She spent most of her years residing in the Mayfair part of the city and was a longtime parishioner of 67 years at St. Timothy's Catholic Church. She married Joseph A. Hvorecky (Dec.) in 1948. Dolores was a graduate of Little Flower High School and was an administrative assistant for various companies until she became a mother of four children. She is survived by her four children, Lori (Stephen), Janice, Joanne (Thomas) and Joseph. She was a loving and caring grandmother/mom mom to Laurie Ann (Matthew), Erin (Rand), Matthew (Dec.), Kevin (Raquel), Sean, Shane (Lindsay), Dylan (Alexandra), Colin (Halley), Jeanna, Brendan, Clare, Jude, and Charlotte (Dec.). Dolores also was a great grandmother/ mom mom to Lily, Emma, Matthew Jr., Kevin, Cassidy, Ryan, Andrew, Alexandra, Juliet, Francesca, Alexander, and Cynthia.

She enjoyed her puzzles, old movies, and snowmen. She had a strong devotion to the Blessed Mother and daily viewed mass as well as prayed the rosary. Dolores was a woman of great faith and will be loved forever. She will be greatly missed. Friends and family are invited to attend the celebration of her life at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, 3001 Levick Street, Philadelphia, PA 19135 – public viewing from 9:15am to 10:30am followed by a funeral mass.  In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations in her memory be made to either of these institutions:
