Doris B. McKnight, 90, passed away on January 5, 2021. She was born on March 23, 1930 in Philadelphia where she resided most of her life. Shs is preceded in death by her father John Blitchford, mother Edith Blitchford (Kepple), and husband Joseph McKnight. She is survived by her five children, Maureen Thompson (Michael), Michael McKnight (Marma), Kerriann McKnight, Colleen McKnight, and Kathleen Applegate (Joseph P). Her 12 grandchildren David, Michelle, John B., Dennis, Megan, John A, Amanda, Rebecca, Shannon, Victoria, Nicholas, and Joseph. As well as her 4 great grandchildren, Liam, Nash, James, and Ian.

She was a devoted mother and cared for many other family members throughout her life.  She retired from her career the banking industry in 2003.  In retirement she enjoyed traveling, going to concerts, and shows with her friends. Her passions included spending time with her family, shopping, going out to eat, and reading.

She was most content with a cup of coffee and a donut in the morning listening to talk radio. She could often be found humming and singing while she did house work, which is a sound her family will miss most. She was a strong, tenacious woman, with a heart of gold that will be missed by her friends and family.

INTERMENT WAS HELD PRIVATELY. THERE WILL BE A MEMORIAL GATHERING AND MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL AT A LATER DATE.
