DOROTHY "DOT" MERINUK

MARCH 19, 1927 - JULY23, 2021

On July 23, 2021, Dorothy (94) passed away peacefully among family at her daughter Patsy's home after a long battle with illness.  She is predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Nicholas J. Merinuk, Sr, and her son, David Merinuk.  She has two living children Nicholas J. Merinuk, Jr. and Patricia O'Hare.

Dorothy was born the third of 11 children on March 19, 1927, to John and Jennie Walsh in Philadelphia.  She is survived by her brother George Walsh and sisters Barbara Forst and Carol Murphy.  She is predeceased by her brothers John, Edward, and Frederick, and her sisters Marion, Margaret, Lorraine, and Joan.  She has three grandchildren; Tracy White, Allison Ferguson, and Christine Balen; and seven great-grandchildren; Austin Balen, Michael J. White, III, Rebecca White, Savannah Balen, Cameron Balen, Stephanie White, and Jared White.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Dot had many friends, old and young, and was loved by everyone.  She will be dearly missed.

Services for Dorothy will be held Wednesday and St. Bartholomew Church at Harbison and Cheltenham Aves at 10:00.  Please use the back entrance.  Mass will be celebrated at 11:00, and burial will be immediately following mass.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in "Dot's" name to Fox Chase Cancer Hospital ,333 Cottman AvenuePhiladelphia, PA 19111-2497.https://www.foxchase.org/giving/how-to-give
