ELLEN A. DECKER

SEPTEMBER 20, 1957 - JUNE 22, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Ellen Decker [Doyle], who left us on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the age of 66. After battling cancer for 4 years, Ellen passed peacefully away in her Philadelphia home surrounded by family. Ellen is survived by her dedicated husband of 39 years, Steven Decker, her daughters, Caitlin Decker (Nelson Bonilla), Colleen Decker (Dennis Schwinger), and Stephanie Decker (Marvin Cedeno Silvestre), her 6 grandchildren, Ryan Schwinger, Aubree Schwinger, Brayden Schwinger, Luna Silvestre Decker, Decker Bonilla, and Leo Silvestre Decker, her siblings, Kathy McGowan (late Tony, Sr.), Ed Doyle (Corky), Patty Murphy, and the late Terri Doyle (Grant Upton). Also survive by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ellen was born September 20, 1957 to her parents, the late Edward and Catherine (Kitty) Doyle [Hansberry]. She attended grade school at St. Bartholomew's Catholic School and went on to be a proud graduate of Frankford High School in 1976. Later in life Ellen worked at Travelers Insurance but soon stayed home to raise her children. She later worked for the School District of Philadelphia as a Food Service Manager at Solis Cohen Elementary School until she retired at the age of 65. Ellen enjoyed relaxing on the beach in Wildwood, NJ every summer and instilled that love in her daughters who will carry that love on and pass to their children.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ellen's viewing Saturday, June 29, 2024 8:30am to 11:30am at THE EDWARD J. PETNER FUNERAL HOME (family owned and operated). Catholic service at 11:30am and burial to follow at the Interment Forest Hills Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Fox Chase Cancer Center.
