Obituary

Florence S. Avon

JANUARY 9, 1932 - AUGUST 1, 2026

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Florence Avon ( Nee Myers) 94, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2026 surrounded by her five children.

Born and raised in the Lawncrest area;  graduate of Frankford High school 1949. She worked at Bell Telephone and later retired from the IRS. Florence carried the values of faith, kindness, and family with her throughout her life. The friendships she made and the memories she created there remained close to her heart, shaping the compassionate and loving woman so many came to know.

Florence lived a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures, especially spending time with those she loved,as an avid reader, and watching her favorite games shows. Florence  treasured every moment and made those around her feel welcomed and loved.

Her greatest joy was her family. Preceded in death by her devoted husband Andrew Avon Sr. and  her grandson Timothy.  She is lovingly survived by her children, Cathy Whitley, Louis Avon ( Renee), Terry Connors (Tom), Mary Ellen Avon , and Andrew  Avon Jr.; her 10 cherished grandchildren; and her eleven  adored great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephew.

Florence was truly loved by many, and her kindness left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Though she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind and the legacy of love she created.

Family and friends are invited to honor Florence's  life at Saint Jerome's Parish, where the viewing will take place at 9:30a.m- 10:30 a.m followed by Mass. Burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre cemetery. Together, we will celebrate a life well lived, a faith well kept, and a woman whose love will remain in everyone's  hearts forever.

May she rest in God's eternal peace.
