IRMA T. VOLK
Irma T. Volk (nee Sandor) of Promised Land, PA. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 6th, 2023 at the age of 84. Irma was born in Philadelphia, PA. to the late Andrew and Irma Sandor. She was predeceased by her brother Andrew Sandor.
After graduating from Little Flower HS, Irma married the love of her life, the late Frank Volk. They had a wonderful, loving marriage of 54 years. Together they raised their children Frank Volk (Virginia), the late Diana Volk, Lora Desher (Walt), Teresa Barry (Bill), Nadeen Miller (Tom), and Anthony Volk (Kim Barrett).
"Nanny" Irma was the true matriarch of the family. She adored her grandchildren Shannon, Frankie, Dana, Nichole, Walt, Brian, Andrew, Danielle, Brittany, Desiree, Tommy, Adam, Jacob, Josh, and Holly. She especially loved spending time with them and their children, as she was blessed with 20 great-grandchildren! Irma is also survived by many loving in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to family, Irma cherished her lifelong friendships. Beginning with her grade school/high school sorority sisters, adding her Ella Street and Pocono Mountain neighbors, Irma considered herself blessed to have such wonderful and endearing friendships!
She was happiest cooking, entertaining, and traveling with those she loved (cruises and buffets were a favorite!). She relished her role as the official family videographer leaving us with memories we will continue to share!
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
