MCKEOWN, James J., beloved husband of Rita C. (nee Denny). Loving father of James J. (Ramona), Patricia Sicilia (John), Gerri Venditto (Michael), and Mary Stauffenberg. Cherished Pop Pop of Jennifer Noll (Patrick), Michael Venditto (Marybeth), David Sicilia, Vincent Venditto (Kristie), Anne-Marie Sicilia, Christopher McKeown (Ashley), Nicholas Venditto (Ashley), Gina Sicilia, Henry Brylinski, Andy Brylinski, and Julie Brylinski and dear great-grandfather of Leah, Mason, Mickey, Evie, Corinne, Luca and Allison. Beloved brother of Margaret, William, George, Matthew and the late Thomas.

Jim served his country from 1943 to 1946 in the Navy where he was a Gunner's Mate on the USS McKinley. Upon receiving his honorable discharge, Jim attended architect school and began employment at Rosengarten and Kramer, followed by United Engineers, and lastly Day and Zimmerman until he retired. Jim met his beloved Rita when she waitressed at Shervins Restaurant which was located at Front and Cumberland Streets. He fell in love with her because of the toasted cinnamon buns she made just for him and he told his friends he would marry her one day. They married only a few months later on July 5th and remained together for 71 years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at 9:00 am, at St. Timothy's Church (3001 Levick Street, Philadelphia, PA 19149) followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family prefers Mass cards.
