Obituary

Jonathan S. Stout

July 20, 1988 - May 23, 2020

Jonathan passed away unexpectedly on May 23, 2020 at the age of 31.  He was the loving and loyal son of Doug and Rita (Lindline), caring brother of Maria (Edward) and Douglas (Britaney), and the adoring uncle of Landon and Peyton. He will be deeply missed by his girlfriend Caitlin and her son Joseph. He is also survived by his Pop Pop, Bernie and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

Jonathan was born and raised in the Mayfair section of northeast Philadelphia, a place where your neighbors become family. He attended St. Matthew School and was a 2007 graduate of Northeast Catholic High School. The relationships and bonds he formed with his childhood friends meant the world to him. He was a lifelong fan of all the Philadelphia-area college and professional sports teams, the Eagles first among them. He enjoyed playing softball and stickball or an occasional round of golf. Jonathan loved spending time with Landon, Peyton and Joseph. Their adventures ranged from road trips to amusement parks to a spin through the local Chick-fil-A drive through.  He also loved dogs and curated an impressive sneaker collection.

Since Jonathan's passing, many have written about how special he was and how fortunate they were to have known him.  They reminisce about his smile and warmth, his goofy behavior that would light up a room. Most of all, they recall the sheer pleasure of his company, how good he made them feel, how free they were to be themselves around him, and how much they will miss him. He had an incredible sense of humor and his laughter was infectious. Jonathan cared about others and valued beyond all else when others showed care and concern for him.

Those who follow Jonathan on social media will likely recognize the hashtag #Stoutishere. He will always be here, forever in our hearts and in our memories.

Funeral services are private. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. Jonathan's family would like to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers at this time.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Never Surrender Hope ( www.neversurrenderhope.org ).
