Kathleen "Kate" E. Schaefer passed away peacefully on October 10, 2022, at the age of 74, following a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Kate is the beloved wife of Edward H., Jr. and the late John Alexander. She is survived by her children Anne Marie Cox (William) and Douglas Alexander (Jeaniene) and her grandchildren William, Jr. Conner, Jacquelin, and Cheyenne. Loving sister of Patricia (the late Jack) David, Raymond (Arlene) Sachleben, William (Ann Marie) Sachleben, Mary (the late Vytas ) Ambrose, Thomas (Brenda) Sachleben, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Kate was born in Brooklyn, NY, on May 10, 1948, to William T. Sachleben and Elizabeth Degen. During her high school years, the family relocated to Girardville, PA. A short time later, she relocated to Philadelphia to raise a family.

Kate was a jack of all trades. She was a lunch mom at Holy Child School. She was an EMT, Instructor of First Aid and CPR. She taught others these techniques through the American Red Cross and American Heart. She also used her talents when volunteered at the 49 ^th Ward, Olney and Rhawnhurst-Bustleton Ambulances Services. Kate volunteered her time with the Boy Scouts of America. She worked as a customer service representative at Sentinel Insurance Agency in Roslyn, Pa. In her spare time, she would spend time with family and friends.  Kate enjoyed crocheting.  She loved a good prank that made her laugh!

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Kate's Memorial Gathering Saturday, October 15, 20222 10:00 am to 11:30 am at the EDWARD J. PETNER FUNERAL HOME (family owned and operated) 6421 Frankford Ave. Phila., PA 19135. Memorial Service 11:30 am. Interment Private.
