MARIE ELIZABETH O'DONNELL
OCTOBER 8, 1935 - MAY 23, 2024
Marie Elizabeth O'Donnell (Glaser) passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 23, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred O'Donnell, sister to the late Wilmer Glaser, and the mother of the late Daneen (Pellizzeri), Kevin(Eileen), Michael and Kelli McNutt (James). Marie is also survived by six grandchildren,Christopher(Andrea), Megan, Kevin, Lauren(Megan), Evan and Ryan as well as five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Marie absolutely loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She spent countless hours watching all her grandchildren play sports. She was not just a babysitter to them, but rather someone who not only cared for them but also taught them invaluable life lessons and how to be a lady and a gentleman. Marie was a fixture on Kelli's porch, often mentioning that her favorite times were sitting on the porch watching Evan and Ryan play and grow with the kids on Park Avenue. We all knew Marie was in her glory whenever her children and grandchildren were with her.
Marie was a loyal and knowledgeable sports fanatic – particularly with her Phillies and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. As much as she loved watching the games, she would leave the room so as not to watch when the game was in a crucial situation – we often teased mom about that. Marie also loved when she could watch her sons Kevin and Michael play ball when they were younger – she did her best not to miss a game despite working two jobs.
She was an avid reader, and particularly enjoyed reading books by John Grisham and Mary Higgins Clark. Marie also loved going to Bingo with her dear friend Dolores Mullin. She also was very active in Saint Timothy's Monday Night Bowling League at the old Bowlero. Several trips to Disney World North Wildwood were among her favorite destinations, as well as many trips to Avalon for Big Band Weekend with her husband Al, and Bill and Joan Glaser.
Marie was well known for her generosity and friendliness. She found herself at ease speaking and interacting with anyone and was always willing to help whenever she could. She lived her life in Christ through both her words and actions.
