MARK A LIVEZEY SR.
JULY 6, 1961 - DECEMBER 14, 2024
On July 6, 1961, in the bustling heart of Philadelphia, the world was graced with the birth of Mark A. Livezey Sr, a man whose journey filled the spaces and places around him with warmth, humor, and unwavering resilience. As we gather today to remember Mark, it's truly a testament to the life of a person who wore many hats, but most prominently, carried titles like devoted husband, loving father, esteemed professional, and irreplaceable friend.
Mark leaves behind heartfelt memories that span his 63 years, memories that thrive among his family, his community, and all who cherished his friendship.
Through the corridors of Abraham Lincoln High, he walked toward a bright academic path that led him to La Salle University. It was there he acquired his business degree that catalyzed a dynamic career at Specialty Aluminum Castings, where he served as Vice President. His professional achievements, however, tell only a part of his story—a story punctuated by remarkable personal victories against hardships, such as the resilience that saw him endure and overcome two arduous brain surgeries.
Stories of Mark take us back to his days as a spirited Boy Scout, an endeavor he pursued zealously until graduating as an esteemed Eagle Scout—establishing a foundation of duty and camaraderie he set the scene for a life dedicated to service, loyalty, and leadership, all qualities that navigated him through every twist life threw at him. Mark managed and was beloved team mate for the Ashton Tavern Hockey Team and eventually, a dynamic bowler. It was in a bowling alley, amid strikes and spares, that love truly struck; he met Kim, who became the love of his life.
His marriage to Kim was one woven with love, humor, and unyielding support—a partnership producing three amazing children: Mark II, Nicholas, and Caryn, who became his pride and joy and living testaments to his loving nature. Mark was a bundle of contradictions wrapped in love—a kind yet stubborn soul with a sensitivity that reached across distances. Known for checking in on others even when life posed the hardest times, he ensured holidays and birthdays felt special, marking these occasions with the unique gifts that were distinctly Mark.
A loving brother to Jeffrey, Kimberly, and Tracey, and a dear son to Phyllis, Mark now joins his father, Warren, and sister Karen, who predeceased him, in spiritual rest. Those who remain carry forward his legacy, woven not just with his immediate family but extending to countless friends and community members who were warmed by his laughter and supported by his unwavering friendships.
The loss of Mark is profound, but as we gather, at Edward J. Petner Funeral Home, it is to remember not just a life lived but a life well-loved. May we draw strength .
