MICHAEL P. KANE JR.

AUGUST 7 1953 - JANUARY 21, 2023

Michael P Kane, fondly known as the "original" Kano, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2022 after suffering a heart attack.  Michael was predeceased by his wife Teresa "Terri" Kane (Fleming) as well as his parents Michael and Joan Kane (Remaily).  He is survived by wife, Eileen Kane and his four children, Michael Kane (Amanda), Kathryn Brill (Sean), Kimberly Schmid, and Karil Kane. He is also survived by his companion Dorothy Dix, as well as his sisters, Mary Capper (Dan) and Margie Gildein (Ernie), and brother, Edward Kane, along with his grandchildren Teresa, Madison, Haley, Morgan, Penelope, Mackenna, Scarlett, Michael, and Theodore.

Michael, self-proclaimed Duke of Fluke, life was full of family and many friends. Being an avid fisherman and his love of the sea brought him to the shores of Wildwood where he spent his retirement enjoying his passion.  When not on the beach or out in the ocean with fishing rod in hand, he spent his time fixating over his beloved Philadelphia sports teams.  His loyalty as a fan was all-embracing and could put him on the road to Clearwater to watch the Phillies in spring training or to a favorite chair, never missing the birds play every Sunday. He will be missed by many and hope that he will find peace in the waters that he is now navigating.

Family and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and a Celebration of Life on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. The services will be at the Edward J Petner Funeral Home located at 6421 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19135. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in memory of him.

Following the services on Thursday, Family and Friends are invited to attend a luncheon at Paddy Whacks Irish Sports Pub located 9241-43 Roosevelt Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19114 .
