THELMA E. SHAFFER

JANUARY 19, 1937 - AUGUST 11, 2022

Entered into eternal peace on August 11, 2022 at the age of 85, she was born on January 19, 1937 to Edward F. Young Sr. and Laura Ruth Young. She was a longtime resident of Philadelphia, PA working at the Nabisco Bakery and Confectionery Plant where she enjoyed eating her favorite warm Lorna Doone cookies right off the belt. After retirement Thelma remained very active in her Church, Oxford Circle Baptist. She is preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Donald Shaffer, brothers Edward F. Young Jr., Frederick H. Young and nephew Eric Young. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Young, nieces Elaine Danner (Darrell), Cheryl Young (Steven), Carol Flannigan, and Debbie Young. Nephews Steven Young (Donna), Donald Young (Nancy), sister-in-law Thelma Young and a large number of great nieces and nephews. Thelma was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew her and loved her. Her jovial spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memories of her cherished friends and family until they meet her again.The family would like to give a special thanks to Missy Coopersmith , all her caregivers and guardian. Interment Sunset Memorial Park.
