Obituary

William J. "Bill" Bradley
9/3/1940 - 9/5/2018
William J. "Bill" Bradley was one of six children born to John J. and Catherine Bradley.  Raised on Willard Street in the Kensington section of Philadelphia, Bill graduated from North Catholic High School in 1958.  He remained a proud Falcon for life.
After graduation, Bill served in the Pennsylvania National Guard and the Philadelphia Police Department until 1968.  From 1968 until 1997, Bill was a Deputy United States Marshal for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
During his tenure as a deputy marshal, Bill travelled to every continental US state with distinguished service at Wounded Knee in 1973.  He directed protection details for the Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court as well as countless Federal witnesses.  He also transported notorious Federal prisoners and was an inaugural member of The Fugitive Task Force.
Colleagues and criminals alike held Bill in the highest regard and appreciated his humor.  After retiring from the US Marshal Service, Bill was a Court Security Officer at the James A. Byrne Federal Courthouse.
Bill and Jeanne M. LeCompte were married in 1968.  Together they had five children: Helene (Danny), Beau (Jana), Dana (Jeff), Paul (Carrie), and Michael.  The children and grandchildren ((Alexandra (Pat), Lily, Ronan, Delaney, Chloe, Julia, Lauren, and Luke)) were their raison d'etre.
Bill was an aficionado of the Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers, Phillies, and Sixers, as well as Notre Dame football.  He enjoyed a party and could always be counted on to display his signature turtle dance move, even after multiple surgeries.  He coached his children in youth athletics and was a volunteer lunch father.
Bill enjoyed traveling to Ireland and California, as well as being the Player-Coach of Olde Tyme Hockey.  Bill was also a proud member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion.
His humor, kindness, and easy- going attitude will be missed by his family, many friends, former colleagues, and especially by Rolling Rock beer.  Bill was predeceased by his parents, sister (Pat), son-in-law (Jeff), and his wife (Jeanne).
