WILLIAM A. JAYNE JR
AUGUST 22, 1956 - FEBRUARY 28, 2023
William A. Jayne, Jr. entered eternal life on February 28, 2023. He was 66.
Predeceased by his father William A. Jayne, Sr, his mother Jacqueline E. M. Jayne (nee Loisch), his sister Shirley Woelk, and brothers Alfred Jayne and Edward McKinney.
Loving father of William Jayne, III (Kristin) and John Jayne. Adoring grandfather of Owen, Ashleigh, Oliver, Johnaya, Jayden, and Jordynn. Brother of Alice "Jo" Mulholland, Darlene McKinney, Jacqueline Dennis (Bill), and David Jayne (Kelly). Proud Godfather of Armando Dennis and Dianna Florey.
Born and raised in Croydon, PA, William graduated from Delhaas High School. A lifelong Lutheran, as a teen he was active in his church, serving as the Crucifer. William's entire adult life was spent in service, first to his nation and then his community. He served in the Army as a counterintelligence agent. After 12 years, he left the Army as a Staff Sergeant. William then began his 28-year law enforcement career. During this time, he received many commendations and was Officer of the Month and Officer of the Year many times. He was a Deputy Sherriff in Prince George's County, MD and retired as a Lieutenant.
HIs greatest joy was when he was taking care of his son John's children. William was a fan of all the Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Eagles and Phillies. He was such a fan that he placed stickers of the Philly teams on his Maryland patrol car, which apparently offended some people. William was a longtime Dead Head, and loved everything about the Grateful Dead. Later in life, he became of member of Advent Lutheran Church in Richboro, PA.
